Peacock Bass

This is the time of year when the Peacock Bass can be seen
nesting near the shores in Sunset Lakes.

Their nests look like a bunch of white rocks on the bottom and
they can be anywhere from 6 inches to 2 feet in diameter.

If you find a nest, watch it for a few minutes. The fish are VERY
protective and aggressive. They will attack anything that comes near
the nest that might disturb (or eat) their eggs.

PLEASE, do no disturb the fish... only watch them.
If you throw rocks or scare them off their nest, all of the
eggs will die and our lakes will have NO FISH.
(The frogs are already nearly gone)
